An attribute is a designation for a role, characteristic, or trait of a process, operation, or activity in ftrack. You can track custom data related to tasks, assets, or objects by configuring custom attributes.
You can choose from several types: text, number, enumerator, date, boolean, and expression.
A custom attribute can exist on a specific project only or as a global attribute that is available on all projects. It is possible to set read/write permissions per custom attribute, even down to the project level.
You can group custom attributes should you wish to do so. It’s advantageous to organize custom attributes in this way if you use a lot of them.
If you are migrating from an existing system, you might already know which custom attributes you need. Even so, it is always possible to create more custom attributes as required in the future.
